English for Residents Program

This program is for residents of Colorado.

Tuition & Fees

Classes

Residents may take as many classes as they like. We offer online, hybrid, and in-person courses.

There are full-week(4 days per week), half-week(2 days per week), and weekend classes.  

Online Only Classes

If a student plans to take classes online, they must have a laptop/computer/tablet to access Zoom. They will also need a webcam and a microphone to interact and communicate with teachers and classmates.

​Weekend English Boot Camp

  • B1 - B2 level

  • 9 am - 3 pm Saturday

  • 6 hours per week

  • An intensive intermediate class focused on developing skills in writing, reading, grammar, and speaking.

  • NEW CLASS - At least 6 students need to enroll by September 23rd in order to start this class on September 28th. If fewer than 6 students enroll, they must choose a different class.

​​Intermediate Academic/Formal English

  • 6 - 7:45 pm, Tuesday and Thursday (half-week)

  • 4 hours per week

  • B1 - B2 level

  • An intermediate class focusing on vocabulary, literature, and debate. This is a combined skills class (writing, reading, grammar, and speaking).
     

Advanced English Intercultural Communication 

  • 5:30 - 8:15 pm, Monday and Wednesday (half-week)

  • 6 hours per week

  • B2 - C2 level

  • An advanced class focused on developing student’s listening and comprehension skills to communicate in intercultural situations. This is done through active participation and the building of vocabulary and grammar. 

Hybrid Classes

Hybrid classes are both available online and in person. Students can choose when and how often they want to come in person and when they want to join online at home.

  • 6 - 7:45 pm, Monday and Wednesday (half-week)

  • 4 hours per week

  • B1 - B2 level

  • An intermediate class focusing on idioms, slang, tone, and pronunciation.  This is a combined skills class (writing, reading, grammar, and speaking).​

 

Advanced Everyday/Conversational English

Not all in-person classes are available at all times.  After you complete the placement tests, you will be given a list of classes to choose from based on your English level and class size. 

Program Length

Students can choose how long they would like to study at CSE.  Depending on their current English level, they can study with us for up to 3 years in order to reach their English language goals. 

Students pass from one level to the next after one session, depending on their academic standing.

Start Dates

Colorado School of English is an open-enrollment school. We have many start dates throughout the year. 

 

Students may start In-person classes at term start dates (every 4 weeks). Students may start online or hybrid classes as soon as they complete the registration steps.

How to Start

1. Apply online https://englishamerica.classreach.com/apply

2. Pay the Invoice. Students need to pay at least the application fee in order to take the placement test.

2. Take the Placement Test to Assess English Level. We will send the placement test via email. Students can take it online (or at the school).

3. Complete ClassReach Profile. The online school account is where students will find class assignments, zoom links, and other helpful materials. Students will need to complete their profile on ClassReach before starting classes. 

4. Choose Classes. Students can choose the classes that work with their schedule and according to their English level.
